Herein, we have fabricated non-woven piezoelectric polymer membranes from a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride with tetrafluoroethylene by electrospinning for the regeneration of oral mucosa. In endeavor to make the antibacterial membranes, we have deposited a thin copper coating on the outer surface of the material via magnetron sputtering. In vivo studies have shown that non-woven piezoelectric polymer membranes contribute to the oral mucosa regeneration and the copper antibacterial coating accelerates this process largely.
