Proper determining the internal friction coefficient of the metal is of key importance, because this value significantly affects the values of the natural frequencies of damped oscillations and is reflected in the conditions of resonances of various orders. In this article, the internal friction coefficient of the AMg6 aluminum alloy is determined by two methods: electromechanical and laser vibrometry. The dependence of the internal friction coefficient on the fundamental frequency of oscillations in the hertz range is established under the assumption that the isochronous condition is met.
