Oxygen is incorporated into single crystals in two ways: in annealingat 900 C in oxygen atmosphere and implantation of high energy (28 MeV) oxygen ions. It was found thatthe changes in the state of the crystal surface under different treatments lead to interesting differences inthe emitting properties of the material.
