The need to teach students the basics of engineering jobs and career development technology is described. The formative pedagogical support of students is shown by the example of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) realising the model of three interconnected successive disciplines facilitating students’ professional self-determination and employability. In relation to existing problems of employability, the article discusses organisational and pedagogical conditions that support professional development of engineering university students within the individualised and personalised approach to the educational process.
