Physical and chemical properties of the synthesized catalysts were studied using sedimentation analysis, XRD, XPS, TEM and thermal analysis. The catalytic activity of the catalysts was examined in the course of dibenzothiophene hydrodesulphurization followed by the GC–MS analysis of the reaction products. Correlations between the catalytic activity and the methanol quantity added in the course of mechanical-chemical activation were established.
