The behavior of a structure element in the form of a plate made either from isotropic or orthotropic material was studied in order to estimate its stress-strain state (SSS) under the pulse loading. The urgency of the research is of particular relevance for the case when the SSS cannot be determined in real conditions of the product exploitation. Due to the complex geometry of the element it was proposed to use the plate theory relations. Motion equations were solved with the use of finite-difference approach. The impact of the elastic properties ratio along various directions (axes of orthotropy) upon the stress-strain state parameters of the plate and the pattern of their variation in time were estimated.
