The nanopowders are studied with the help of X-ray phase and X-ray structural analysis, electron scan microscopy, and spectrophotometry. The value of the specific surface of nanopowders has been determined and a preliminary estimation of the prospects for using silicon nanopowders in biological applications has been carried out. In this work we study the possibility of synthesizing silicon nanopowders from silicon monoxide with particles from 7 to 20 nm in size using a chemicothermal method.
