An ion beam is formed when a submicrosecond high-voltage pulse is applied to the anode of the vacuum diode at the moment of the existence of a dense explosive emission plasma in the accelerating gap. The plasma in the diode is created by an additional high-voltage pulse preceding the main one due to explosive emission on the surface of the potential electrode. The amplitude of the main accelerating pulse in the experiments was 200 kV and the duration was 100 ns at the half maximum.
