Grains of the wheat variety Irene naturally infected by Fusarium spp., Bipolaris sorokiniana and Alternaria spp. were treated using pulsed (0.5 µs) X-ray irradiation (280 keV) with a high dose rate (up to 40 kGy/s). A dose-dependent effect of irradiation on fungal contamination of grains was observed.
