330 | _aThe hillsides of the area Elga coal field are prone to landslides. Therefore, it is vitally important to produce a landslide susceptibility map of this region. For this purpose, nine thematic layers were prepared for the factors controlling the occurrence of landslides. We calculated the weight of each factor in the susceptibility modeling using two approaches, namely, statistical analysis (frequency ratio, FR) and analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Geological features (genetic types, age, and lithology), slope, distance to fault and distance to stream data layers were found to be important factors in the study area. The final susceptibility map was created by adding the weighted thematic maps and reclassifying the raster into five classes according to the degree of susceptibility. Finally, the two maps were compared to evaluate the accuracy of two methods. It was found that only 4% of the territory is characterized by very high landslide susceptibility. The accuracy of the model was checked using the area under the curve index (AUC) during of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The results showed that the AUC values for success rate were 0.857 and 0.875 for FR and AHP models, respectively. The AUC values of predictive rate were 0.950 and 0.968 respectively, confirming the efficiency of the adopted methodology. | ||
